Tá Dándírix, file ón sráidbhaile Gallach, gafa ina phríosúnach ag na Rómhánaigh. Imíonn Asterix agus Obelix ar thuras contúirteach chun é a shábháil. Ach tá Dándírix faoi ghlas sa sorcas mór agus níl aon ní i ndán dó ach troid leis na leoin. The Romans capture the Gaulish village bard, Dándírix, and send him to Rome as a prisioner. Asterix and Obelix go to Rome to rescue Dándírix, but finding the bard in the city is not easy, he is under lock and key at the Circus Maximus, condemned to be thrown to the lions. Asterix and Obelix can only reach their bard by becoming gladiators. Faced with a crowd-filled circus, will our heroes suffer from stagefright?
