The Romans capture the Gaulish village bard, Dándírix, and send him to Rome as a prisioner. Asterix and Obelix go to Rome to rescue Dándírix, but finding the bard in the city is not easy, he is under lock and key at the Circus Maximus, condemned to be thrown to the lions. Asterix and Obelix can only reach their bard by becoming gladiators. Faced with a crowd-filled circus, will our heroes suffer from stagefright?
